Salary: £25k - £30k pa.

Join Light Trace Photonics and help develop a cutting-edge service that enables customers across the quantum, photonic processing, and communications industries to rapidly prototype the next generation of photonic integrated circuit (PIC)-based products.

Light Trace was founded in 2021 – we have sold our first products and are expanding the team.

About the Role:

As a Business Administrator at Light Trace Photonics, you will play a pivotal role in the efficient running and fast growth of the business, helping the team to develop and deliver its innovative service. You’ll work closely with management to streamline internal processes, facilitate the company’s marketing strategy, and help establish policies that promote responsible growth and a good working culture. In this role, you will have significant scope to grow with the company into areas of interest.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Purchasing and procurement of equipment, supplies, and consumables;

  • Coordinating social media and website posting;

  • Policy and document management;

  • Documenting internal processes;

  • Booking and organising travel to conferences and exhibitions;

  • General and grant administration; and

  • Shipping and receiving of supplies, equipment, and products.

Core Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong organisational skills, including file management, time management, and spreadsheet tracking;

  • Excellent English and communication skills;

  • Ability to effectively communicate with different audiences;

  • Ability to document key processes intuitively and efficiently;

  • Experience posting on LinkedIn and managing content on Squarespace; and

  • Experience with invoicing and purchasing processes (e.g. using Xero or bookkeeping).

Nice to haves:

  • A passion for helping forge a positive working culture and previous experience working on, or supporting, EDI or ESG policies;

  • A willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities; and

  • A high-level understanding of, or previous experience working in the quantum/photonic industry and/or research space.
