Dr Stephen Kitson has joined Light Trace Photonics as Chair of the board.
December 2024, Bristol UK
We are thrilled to welcome Dr Steve Kitson as the Chair of the Board at Light Trace Photonics. Steve brings a wealth of experience, blending a rich history in cutting-edge R&D, tech entrepreneurship, and helping early-stage businesses.
Steve’s journey began as a physicist — he has helped develop technology ranging from quantum optics to electronic paper. Over the years, he has transitioned from academic research to corporate R&D Labs, before co-founding and leading a Bristol-based tech start-up. This broad perspective uniquely positions him to support companies like Light Trace Photonics as they navigate the complex path from lab to market.
Currently, Steve chairs the boards of four early-stage tech companies, including Light Trace Photonics, and serves as an adviser and mentor to others. His passion lies in transforming groundbreaking technologies into real-world applications that positively impact society.
Steve shared his enthusiasm for this role:
“I’m passionate about getting groundbreaking technology out of the lab and into the world where it can make a real difference to people. It’s an honour to be helping Light Trace Photonics on their journey.”
As Chair of the Board, Steve will oversee and enhance Light Trace’s governance, ensuring we are well-positioned to meet our strategic goals. His guidance will be instrumental as we continue to push the boundaries of photonics technology.
With Steve’s leadership, Light Trace Photonics is poised to make even greater strides in shaping the future of integrated photonics technologies. Stay tuned for more updates as we embark on this exciting chapter!
