Light Trace secures funding from £75k Innovation Fund

February 2023, Bristol UK. Light Trace Photonics, along with several other leading startups, has secured funding from the University of Bristol’s Jim & Peggy Wilkinson Innovation Fund.

The highly-competitive fund, which forms part of the university’s Runway programme to accelerate graduate ventures, is awarded by a panel of seasoned entrepreneurs who judge proposals based on their potential for impact.

Jonathan de Pass, Founder of Evaluate and panelist for the fund, says:

“The Jim and Peggy Wilkinson fund looks to support early-stage graduate ventures with great potential. We decided to award Light Trace Photonics a share of this funding as their application stood out, among others, as one that has a high potential for impact.”

Light Trace is using photonic integrated circuits (PICs) to provide researchers with a host of new and enhanced component capabilities that will revolutionise innovation in the industry. The funds will be used to develop Light Trace’s in-house PIC testing and assembly capabilities.
